ASSEMBLYMAN KEENE HONORS MAXINE ROBINSON

AS “WOMAN OF THE YEAR”

SACRAMENTO – Assemblyman Rick Keene announced Maxine Robinson, a dedicated community volunteer, as the “Woman of the Year” honoree for the Third Assembly District.

“Awarding Maxine Robinson for her generous community involvement is a tremendous privilege. Her volunteer work in Nevada County demonstrates excellent citizenship and makes her a valuable asset to this community,” said Keene.

Since retiring in Nevada County in 1995, Robinson’s public service efforts include the Pet Adoption League, 49er Firefighter’s Auxiliary, All Vets Stand Down and the Friends of Nevada County Military. She is a former board member for the Friends of Nevada County Animals.  Her political involvement is quite extensive and includes work with grassroots organizations and county supervisor races.  She recently accepted the Presidency of the Nevada County Republican Women Federated for 2006.

Each year, California State Assembly Members select one woman from their district whose community involvement is deserving of special recognition.  The honoring of each district’s recipient will occur on Monday, March 20th during a ceremony in the State Assembly Chambers.

Maxine Robinson is married to Terry and has one step-daughter, Donna.
